Dr. Hudson

Dear Mulligan Families,

Welcome to early winter!!!   Our young scholars continue to make great strides towards academic success.  We just concluded our Parent/Teacher conferences.  However, if you were unable to attend, feel free to contact your child’s teacher to schedule a meeting.  I certainly want to thank everyone that supported our “Kiki” Reading Night.  We had well over 300 people in attendance.

Below is a brief overview of a few important announcements and descriptions of our upcoming events for the months of December/January.  Have a great Winter Break!!!

  • Bucket Filler Characteristic of the Month: Our character value for the month of December is Fairness and for January, we will focus on the importance of Respect. We hope you will find ways to reinforce these important characteristics at home.

  • “Kiki” Reading Logs: Spend at least 20 minutes every day reading with or to your child.  Remember Academic success begins at home.

  • Community Service Program:  Teaching students the importance of helping others is an important value at Mulligan Elementary School.  We want all of our scholars to know that even at a young age, they can make a difference.  Thus, our community service program is integrated into the curriculum across all grade levels.  Although they will complete their weekly community service logs in class, please encourage volunteerism outside the classroom.

  • Real Men Cook Night:  Please come out and support our 1st Real Men Cook Night fundraiser on December 19, 2018 from 6:30-8:00 sponsored by our Men of the Future Jr. club.  RSVP by December 18, 2018.

  • Parent University/PTA Meeting   on January 9, 2019 we will hold our Parent University/Student Recognition, from 6:30 pm - 7:00 pm.  Immediately afterward there will be a PTA Meeting (7:00 pm – 8:00 pm)

  • Mulligan’s Big Top Scientific Circus: On January 25, 2019, Mulligan will host its very own Science Circus.  Details will be forthcoming.

  • Winter Reading Packets:  Winter Reading Packets will be coming home with students across all grade levels.  Packets are designed to reinforce reading during the Winter Break and due back in school on January 2, 2019.

Once again, Mulligan family, I want to thank you for all of your support.  Remember, “Educating Children for College, Career and Beyond……. We are all in this Together!”

 Thank you,

Tracy Hudson, Ed.D.
